First the baptism in Christ's name (Yeshua, derived Jesus):
"When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus." Acts 19:5.
“For the Spirit had not yet come upon any of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 8:16
Followed by prayer asking for Spirit & Gifts:
"Paul laid his hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came upon them. They spoke in strange tones and prophesied." Acts 19:6
"Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. When Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Spirit was given." Acts 8:17-18
At the time of the Outpouring Period you also received Spirit and Gifts at baptism, but from after the Outpouring Period no longer and the Apostles therefore do the baptism in Christ's name followed by the laying on of hands to God who is Spirit + Reception of Gifts.
Laying on of hands is always with the right hand as we know from the example with the children of Joseph who had hands laid on by Jacob (Genesis 48:14-16):
"But when he had brought them near to Jacob, Jacob crossed his hands and put his right hand on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on the head of Manasseh, who was the eldest." Genesis 48 :14-16.
The right hand is therefore laid on the firstfruits or "elders" in Christ.
Pay attention during prayer with the laying on of hands!
If you receive prayer with the laying on of hands after the baptism to Christ, you also go into prayer yourself. Namely, by saying to God that you hope in Christ to receive His Spirit and Gifts, that you can serve Him as He intends, according to His Will. Say you yearn for His Love anchored and growing within you. Perhaps words will also come to mind that you can silently pray during this occasion.
At the same time, you remain attentive. It may be that you feel God's Blessing descending on you, that something happens to your head or hands. Or after: that something has happened to your eyes or your vision has changed or has changed, and so on. Noticing this can be important to find or determine your Spiritual gifts.
No one gets the same Gifts, nor the same amount of Gifts. Everyone receives according to their means, but however little: you use what you get fully for God in the service of Christ! This is the only way to grow in the Fruit of the Spirit. (Note Fruit of the Spirit, not the fruit of your own will).
You can cry with laying on of hands after/during prayer, feel light, feel clean, feel full of love (similar to being in love), immediately express spiritual Gifts (testing!!!). However, NOT "falling", NOT "being empty and filled", NOT "getting fits of laughter"!
After this reunion with God YHWH who is Spirit through your own spirit, it is the intention to find out what your Spiritual gifts are and to use them in your daily environment or wherever you go. Think of at home, outside the house, on the street, at your employer, with family, friends, acquaintances and so on. Also pay attention to what God offers you in your mind and also think about what Christ offers in the base: mercy, empathy, generosity, helpfulness and so on in an appropriate way for that person and situation.
- Are you suddenly able to pray well for others: then PRAY for others
- When you realize that you are allowed to heal: then bring HEALING with your hands and prayer
- DO YOU SEE what is dedicated to evil: ask God in the name of Christ to protect and bind evil. Also warn your loved ones!
- Do you get thoughts on what to say: Then PROPHECISE it appropriately.
- Do you suddenly know how to organize something: ORGANIZE it
- Do you understand how something is meant or should be interpreted: tell it and TEACH it.
- And so on.
In that way you go out in your daily life, you do God's Will with God's Gifts and you grow in God's Fruit. That's the only way to live(d).
Matthew chapter 25:
- The oil in the lamp = God's Spirit in your bodily temple in Christ.
- The spare oil = God's Spiritual Gifts that you receive after the laying on of hands.
- The Talents received = Spiritual Gifts received.
- Proliferate with the Talents = active personal use with the received Talents
- Growth of the Talents = Fruit of the Spirit that you get through active use of the Spiritual Gifts
Now read Matthew chapter 25 (10 bridesmaids and Boss who goes on a journey and gives Talents to his servants).
Note: faith in 1 true God who is Spirit and in 1 Lord Jesus Christ is necessary, John 17:3, John 14:1 and Romans 10:9.
- No clean temple in Christ without baptism!
- Without prayer with the laying on of hands after baptism, no reunion of your spirit with God's Spirit and no receipt of spiritual gifts so you simply do your own will leading to the fruit of sin.
- No Spiritual Fruit without active use of the Spiritual gifts.
- No eternal life without the Fruit of the Spirit! Read about that Matthew 25:39-30:
“But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
And casts the useless slave into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Do you believe in God (YHWH) and in Christ: then do not fail to undergo your baptism to Christ and afterwards, with the laying on of hands, to join God who is Spirit and to the Reception of Gifts. This is how you receive God's Blessing which you need to go out personally to grow in God's Fruit of the Spirit on behalf of Christ:
“Go out and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19*
*Unadulterated version of Matthew 28:19 known from the 3rd century letters of Eusebius. Without the 4th century 3 names insertion of the RCC!
