What do the Scriptures say? Can the link be laid between Christ and him being the Messiah and King of the Jews?!
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Ruler (#08269) of Peace", Isa 9:6
"But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.", Micah 5:2
Male child born of ancient times?!
Clearly the Messiah is introduced by Isaiah 9:6 as a male child that will be born that will be called a Ruler (#8269 sar; ruler, governor, prince) of clearly divine origin. Micah 5:2 adds to that by explaining that child comes from Bethlehem Ephrathah born from the tribe of Judah yet also from ancient times! Also that the pre-existing person will be the Ruler of Israël.
Clearly a King
Also Genesis 49:10 already tells about how "the Shiloh" will come forth from the tribe of Judah and his scepter and staff will be over all people.
"The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the obedience of the peoples be", Gen49:10.
A scepter is an attribute of Kings as a Ruler of people. And we also know Christ was born in Bethlehem Ephrathah and is a descendant from Judah:
Matthew1:1-16, especially verse 3.
Luke3:23-38, especially verse 34!
Born King & Messiah
"Now after Yeshua was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem,
saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born.", Matthew1:1-3
King Herod took the matter very seriously obviously. He knew about the coming Messiah as did the priests and Scribes. As a King he feared that newborn King, because he was afraid it would end his worldly kingship. Thus he ordered all newborn boys to be killed:
"Then (King) Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men became furious and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men.", Matthew 2:16.
But an angel of God warned Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt with Yeshua and his wife, so Yeshua was unharmed. They returned to Israël after Herod had died.
Governor Pilate declared Christ King
Not only King Herod knew the King and Messiah had come. But also Roman Governor Pontius Pilate recognized him as the King of the Jews. Firstly by asking the Jewish leaders a question:
"Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered: “We have no king but Caesar.”, John19:15.
Untill this very day and forward many Jews follow their chief priests in their denial, fear for their jobs and status, and love for Rome through the Roman ordered Hillel2 calendar while "rabbi and nasi of the Sanhedrin"- Hillel2 was besprinkled on his death bed to become a Roman Catholic that way and bring his people under Rome!!!
Secondly Pilate wrote a sign in 3 languages that was nailed above the cross where Christ was crucified saying Christ is the King of the Jews:
"Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read, “Yeshua of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Yeshua was crucified was near the City, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek.", John19:19-20.
Also the Jews declared him King and Messiah
On an earlier moment the Jews already declared Yeshua king and Messiah; they also knew the Scriptures saying:
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.", Zech9:9.
And when Christ came to them on the donkey they immediately recognized him as that King and Messiah Zechariah described:
"And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”, Matthew 21:9.
They knew he was the Messiah for they heard how he raised Lazarus from his tomb:
"The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness. The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign.", John12:17-18.
Most Jews live in denial of Christ
Ever since the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ most Jews live ahead in denial of him coming, being the Messiah and being the King God YHWH sent us.
The basic Judaistic Jews live ahead under the Law and were given a stupor spirit by God. Without Christ they cannot fulfil the Law neither come to God.
The messianic Jews also deny Christ as the Messiah of God YHWH by turning him into a biune godhead. Thus they have no sent Savior (John17:3) and no Highpriest of God. Also they received the stupor spirit!
Through idolatry (multiple Gods!) and refusing Christ as Lord of God (Romans 10:9) they cannot fulfil the Law neither come to God.
Hope for the Jews!
Yet as the apostle Sha'ul (Paul) prophesied in the Endtime God will take the stupor spirit away and they get another chance to acknowledge Christ as Lord of God thus can join God! So there is hope for the Jews!
Untill that time: you now know the Scriptures clearly point towards Christ being the sent Messiah and King. So if you believe the Scriptures and now know even King Herod, the priests, Governor Pilate and the Jews knew Christ is that Messiah and King: get to know Christ as the Messiah too and build up a relationship with him too. Make it personal! Christ Yeshua loves you too!
