Col2:17 directly refers to "a shadow of (future!) things to come" yet what is meant with that and for whom?!
"Let no man therefore judge you in food* or in drink*, or with regard to a Feast Day or a New Moon or a Sabbath day which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.
*'Brosis' meaning primarily 'food'; here meant as counterpart of drink 'posis': food and drink; brosis and posis. 'Meat' as some translations say is a wrong and illogical translation. Compared it would be the same mistake translating 'drink' into 'soda' or 'alcoholic beverages'!
A shadow cast forward!
Important is to be aware that the "object" or "subject" that "casts the shadow" is not Earth, but it is only cast on Earth and that it is cast on Christians ("but the body is Christ's "). Actually Heaven is the object and more specific God in Heaven is the subject "casting that shadow": ordaining those days for Christ and his servants ('Christians'):
Revelation 1:1 "The revelation of Christ Yeshua, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place".
Revelation 14:12 "Here is a call for the endurance of God's Consecrated, those who keep the Commandments of God and their faith in Yeshua.
So the weekly Sabbath (Friday sunset till Saturday sunset) -the 4th Commandment of God's 10 Commandments- also is the day to keep holy for Christ and Christian just as the rest of the 10 Commandments of God YHWH are to be kept. And Col2:16 makes us very clear also the Feasts of God and the New Moonsday are to be kept holy by Christians.
The Object of the shadow
More important is to realize that in Heaven God's Days and Feasts are kept, because the object of the shadow cast is Heaven and the Eternal God YHWH has installed those Days forever!
Heaven in future but acting now!
Christians however are not inactive awaiting that future in Heaven, but are acting now as if that future has already come: they keep the Feasts, weekly Sabbath and monthly New Moons.
Also Christians know that Heaven will be totally VEGAN for all creatures there. And they know drinking alcoholic beverages is damaging their health and as a temple of the Holy Spirit they want to stay healthy. So they keep those days and consume healthy and let no one pass judgement on them for it, meaning they do not adjust their ways to people criticizing them!
Wrongly interpreted by the world
The world has translated Col2:16-17 so it can do whatever it wants, which is actually the main crede of the devil ('do whatever thou willst!'). No matter what days you keep, whatever you eat or drink: don't let anyone criticize or stop you is their interpretation...
Thus the church and world keep the pagan Sunday and connected church feasts of the trinity sungodhead Baalder, Easter and Tammuz from Babylon, they eat meat, drink alcoholic beverages and are not preparing for the future in Heaven but for eternal Verdict and Judgement. In the meanwhile they trespass Gods 10 Commandments that still apply and grow in sin...
Leave church Babylon and dare to make the choice for the narrow path instead!
