Many churches have doctrines saying God's 10 Commandments are over and done with. Some say they are replaced by only 2 commandments of Christ while others say we can do whatever we want because Christ died at the cross. Truth or a big lie?
First of all it is important to know churches act upon their doctrine by going against God's 10 Commandments:
1. By keeping church Sunday instead of the 4th Commandment (Exodus20:8-11) keep the Sabbath (Friday sunset till Saturday sunset). Usually claiming because Christ rose from the dead on a Sunday which is untrue!
2. By declaring and believing Christ is a god too (going against the 1st Commandment, Ex20:1-3) as a part of church trinity or biunity godhead instead of confessing Christ as Lord of God YHWH as Romans 10:9 says:
"Confess Christ as Lord and believe with your heart God raised him from the dead and you will be saved".
The churches trespass not 1 but 2 of God's 10. The Apostle James says in James 2:10-11 this about people that are doing so:
"For whoever keeps the whole Law but fails in one Commandment has become guilty of all.
For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law".
James actually says 2 things here:
1. By given examples in verse11 he clearly says that unto Christians God's 10 are the Law.
2. Breaking one Commandment means breaking all Commandments; breaking the Law unto Christians.
Some church people say that James was writing to Jews and give James1:1 as evidence ("to the 12 tribes") yet James 2:1 elaborates on that by saying this:
"My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory".
James writes to born Jews from all tribes of Israel yet being Christians!
But also the book of Revelation which was also written after the Ascension of Christ (about year 95) talks about how Christians keep God's Commandments:
"Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus", Revelation 14:12.
"But hang on: how do we know those "saints" aren't Jews?"...
As Revelation 1:1 says it is a Revelation God provides to Christ and his servants:
"The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place".
Those "servants of Christ" are the Christians, not the Jews. They are the Saints set-apart in Christ before God YHWH; they are God's Elect. Christ compares them in Matthew 25:14-15 as servants that work with the Talents given by their Lord while he went away:
"The Parable of the Talents
“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.
To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away".
Christ is that man going away ascending to God in Heaven; he is the Bridegroom Christians are waiting for to return:
"When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look, the Bridegroom is here!" Matthew 25:5-6
The "Judaistic" Jews deny Christ and are not his followers neither his servants.
Through James and John (wrote Revelation) we know Christians (after the Ascension!) keep God's 10 Commandments in full because God ordained so (Revelation 14:12) for Christ and Christians (Revelation 1:1).
The Book of Revelation is in fact the FINAL INSTRUCTION OF GOD FOR CHRIST AND CHRISTIANS AND AS SUCH GOES BEYOND EVERYTHING SAID BEFORE AND EVEN ABOVE WHAT CHRIST SAYS OR SEEMS TO HAVE SAID, BECAUSE IT IS ORDAINED TO CHRIST AND CHRISTIANS!
Having said this I only shortly want to talk about earlier statements about the Law in Galatians:
Clearly Paul is talking to born Jews there (Galatians 3:14-16) that became Christians but insist in living a Jewish life according to the Law: about food, about Jewish rituals and circumcision. Yet Christians are not under those Jewish laws but under Christ, Galatians 3:24-26.
The 10 Commandments -the Law unto Christians - however are not about earning righteousness, eternal life or a place in Heaven as the Law was unto Jews. And unto the Jews those Laws (without faith even, just doing) were a curse because they couldn't fulfill them! (Galatians 3:13-14).
God's 10 are about loving God, loving the neighbors and thus loving yourself. The 10 Commandments are LOVE as God is LOVE. Christ is a son of his God and Father (John20:17) and he is also love so he definitely is not against God's Commandments! And Revelation 14:12 also refers to him (God's Elect!) as the Revelation concerns God's Instructions for Christ and his servants (Christians), Revelation 1:1.
That's why Christ says this too:
"Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these Commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.", Matthew 5:19
God is the God of the Sabbath (Gen2:23, Ex20:8-11) and Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew12:8) and they still are. They'll always be as God is Eternal; and Christ is Lord of God (Romans 10:9).
