Getting prepared for Christ's Return!
A day of fasting on the appointed biblical day for it is a preparation for when Christ Yeshua returns with the angels to Earth to gather God's Children (1Thess4:14-18) and bring them to Heaven where he prepared a place for them (John14:2).
God's Calendar earlier than Hillel2 !
On God's Calendar Gods Feast fall usually different and earlier than the adjusted Hillel2 calendar of Jews and the Messianic: they are usually too late. Another bad influence of their faulty faith without Christ as Lord (Romans 10:9) of God YHWH (Jews) or with the pagan biune godhead from Babylon!
Hillel2 was more or less ordered to change God's Calendar/Feasts by Roman Emperor Julianus the Apostate. Hillel abolished New Moons or delayed them to lead to public/Jewish holidays instead thus Gods Year was changed. Also the determining of the biblical year was changed: with Rosh Hashanah (1 Tishri) as a Jewish new year instead of 1 Nisan. Also the feasts were back calculated from Tishri causing division in the biblical year. Last but not least the Hillel2 year was adapted to the sun year as well instead of being a lunar year alone as God determined! And the Hillel2 is now a 19 years cycle calendar to keep track with the (Roman!) solar calendar.

Fasting and like the Sabbath
Fasting - no eating or drinking - requires rest and quiet so it's no coincidence this day is like the Sabbath as well: no work, no trade, no one working for you. Staying at home or close to home is best too. No far traveling.
Best is a focus on silent solitude which is a good combination with reading from your Bible, listening to worship music, making music on piano, guitar or keyboard, watching a biblical dvd or video and in between sleeping a lot. Also a short strawl outside during daytime can be nice; not to far in order not to use too much energy and get (more) thirsty and hungry.
Personal hygiene as usual
Don't neglect personal hygiene. Do brush your teeth and rinse with water without swallowing. Also clean your face and use deodorant especially when you are fasting with your family or with companions. Wash your hands after you go to the toilet. And stay friendly even if fasting makes it hard on you.
After fasting eat slowly & little bits
When the end of the fasting is getting nearer it always seems to be easier. But when it is time to start eating again after sunset don't go crazy and start with a cup of tea and some bread. Take your time. After you finish that you can eat some more but do it slowly to avoid heartburn and belly ache afterwards
"For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words." 1Thess4:14-18.
"There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you." John14:2
