John10:30 is used to justify the pagan trinity- or biunity godhead teachings from Babylon and to wrongly turn Christ into God, Father, Spirit or vice versa. How to read and understand John10:30 then?
"I and the Father are one",
John10:30
God is a Spirit, Christ is not!
First of all the Bible tells us God YHWH is a Spirit, John4:24. Christ however has a risen body, raised by God says Romans 10:9 as follows:
"Confess Christ as Lord and believe with your heart God raised him from the dead and you will be saved".
Christians confess Christ as Lord of God YHWH, not as god. Also we know from Hebrews 5:5, Hebrews 6:20 that Christ is the HighPriest of God. God is neither His Own HighPriest nor His Own servant!
From this we already know Christ Yeshua isn't God. But there's more:
1. Christ doesn't know what God knows, Mark13:32
2. Christ still doesn't know what God knows and needs to get a Revelation after the Ascension, Revelation 1:1.
3. Christ returns all he received back to God and then God will be all in all, 1Cor15:24-28. A trinity- or biunity godhead wouldn't and cannot return anything to himself: that would be utterly rubbish!
Church biunity and trinity godhead are pagan and come from Babylon; Roman emperor Constantine inserted that idolatry into the RCC he erected and from there it found its way to all other churches and denominations.
But then what about John10:30?
It starts with accepting that God is someone else than Christ. Believe what Christ says in John17:3 and John14:1.
You have to know the one true God and Christ sent by God; and you have to believe in God, but also in Christ (as Lord of God).
"I and the Father are one" in context!
So Christ and God are not one and the same, because there's only one true God YHWH, a Spirit. And even there are 7 Spirits of God (Rev5:6) - God is One, Romans3:30.
In verse 32 and 37-38 the true context of verse 30 is shown:
"Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?", John10:32.
"If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father", John10:37-38.
Christ tells them he is doing the works of his Father, as the Father taught him to do:
"So Jesus said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me. And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.", John8:28-29.
In John20:17 Christ says openly who the Father is:
"I ascend to my and your Father, to my and your God".
Christ made the John10:30 statement to underline there is a WORKING UNITY between him and his God. And God is working through Christ.
"Good works from the Father I showed you", verse32.
"I do nothing of my own authority", verse28.
The same way of working between God and Christ took place before Creation started as can be read in Proverbs8:22-31 and in particular in Proverbs8:30-31 in which Christ says:
"when He marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside Him, like a master workman (Strong 0525: 'Amown': "skilled labourer / master Workman") and I was daily His delight, rejoicing before Him always, rejoicing in His inhabited world and delighting in the children of man".
Christ is working as a Master Workman as instructed by God. That's why Col1:15-16 says the following:
"He (Christ) is the image ('a visible copy') of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth".
And we also know from Proverbs8:22-31 that God created Christ first saying:
"The LORD created me as the beginning of His works, before His deeds of long ago. From eternity I was appointed,
from the beginning, from before the world existed. When there were no deep oceans I was born", Proverbs8:22-24.
Christ was created by God and Christ was the Workman and Ambassador of God on Earth during Creation. That's why Christ could say in John3:13 this:
"No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man".
So God YHWH is the Creator, a Spirit; He is the Alpha. But Christ was created by God before Creation and he assisted God in Creation after that moment; in Heaven as well on Earth.
John10:30 refers to that working unity of God and Christ, not only during Creation but also when Christ was sent to Earth by God (John17:3). All the miracles done by Christ were backed up by God's Almighty Power:
Christ asks God's Help:
Lazarus rising from the dead:
"Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that You sent me.” When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.”The man who had died came out", John11:41-44.
5 loaves & 2 fish multiplied...
"Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds", Matthew14:20
And we know from John 8:29 "that Christ always does what is pleasing to God" so God will bless what Christ does at forehand! Christ does the works of his Father, John10:32. A work he can do because of the working unity between God and him.
Yet also Christians will receive the same link Christ received; after being baptized and thus joining Christ (Gal3:27, Acts19:5) they can after following prayer with the laying on of hands also receive God's Spirit (Acts19:6) and Gifts(Acts8:17-18) which actually means they are spiritually linked to God Who is a Spirit, John4:24.
