Count your blessings?!

Rather focus on what you have been blessed with and thank God YHWH for it in Yeshua's name.

We generally want a perfect life, although so much goes wrong that you almost no longer see what went well or what didn't go wrong.  And in that process we see even less of ourselves;  our behavior and communication.  In disappointment we become angry, sour, bitter, mocking, shouting and aggressive.  Also on the road in the car, in the supermarket, at work, on public transport, and so on.  That's what you get when you focus on the perfect life in which so many things go wrong.

In Micah chapter 6 we read (Micah 6:1-3) that God will accuse Israel (and the world!) and a day in Court will follow.  Strangely enough, in verse 4 God suddenly turns things around by calling His Own Action into question, indicating what went well because of His actions.  As if God Himself is on trial:

“My people, what have I done to you? How have I worn you out? Answer me! For I brought you out of Egypt and set you free from slavery; I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to guide you.  My people, do not forget the plan that Balak the king of Moab devised, and what response Balaam son of Beor gave him. Do not forget what happened between Shittim and Gilgal, and you will know that I have treated you fairly.  !'', Micah6:3-5.

Then God shows what He did for them and how He blessed them.  And this list was preceded by the fact that He saved Joseph and his family from famine by bringing them into Egypt.  So it is important to know and remember your blessings!

“Continue in prayer, being watchful in it, giving thanks to God.”, Colossians 4:2

Better yet, thank God in prayer in the name of Yeshua.  Even better: praise Him!

"Everything that has breath, praise the LORD! Hallelujah!" Psalm 150:6.

It is difficult when something goes wrong or is disappointing, but I have noticed that thanking and praising God daily in your prayer leads to a happier life and more blessing.  Better yet, simply always start your prayers with it before you start asking.  And as for sudden setbacks and problems, no matter how great your consternation, pray briefly.  Thank God and ask for help.

It may be that the situation will turn around a short time later or that great blessings will come into your life in other areas, so that you forget the disappointing things.  And then you have something to thank God and Christ Yeshua!

In this way you grow in gratitude and it shows on your face, radiates from you and is reflected in your behavior and communication.  And that also comes back to you.  For example, in contact with authorities, during problem conversations, during your job interview, in traffic, during an argument or emergency, and so on.  If you do not show a short fuse, no bitterness or sourness and no aggressiveness, but patience, thoughtfulness, kindness and helpfulness damage and disgrace will often be avoided.  Also because God and Yeshua can then help you in your thoughts and actions.

So do remind yourself in case of setbacks: don't get stressed, don't get angry or aggressive, but start with (silent) prayer and even better: thank and praise God and Yeshua (John 5:23) and present your problems to them in peace!

"For he desires that all should honor the Son as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent the Son," John 5:23
